Concerted efforts have been made by the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone – located in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province – to ramp up the expansion of its three prime mover industries.
They are the high-rate lithium battery production sector for power tools and electrical appliances, the bio-fermentation and future food industry, as well as the intelligent wind power equipment industry.
From January to June, the zone broke ground on nine new projects related to the three special industry supply chains totaling over 100 million yuan ($13.82 million) each and completed the construction of eight projects totaling over 100 million yuan each, according to Shao Ming, secretary of the zone's Party working committee.
In the intelligent forming workshop of Huierxin Machinery (Taixing), renovated automated flipping machines, sand blasting machines and spraying robots have started operating.
"Huierxin has continued to increase efforts in technological innovation and has self-developed a complete set of wind power intelligent forming equipment technology, as well as realized the commercialization of scientific research achievements," said Lyu Jianjie, deputy general manager.
In the construction of a high-rate lithium battery manufacturing industrial park, the zone is accelerating the construction of the Phase IV plant of Jiangsu Sunpower and Phase II of Dongfang Ninesky's nickel plated steel strip facility, used for high-end lithium battery casings.
In a further build-out of the Bio-fermentation and Future Food City of China, the zone has appointed Shi Weichen, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering as a special consultant for development, as well as introduced many top-flight talented people.
