Construction of a high-precision and high-strength piston rod plant – costing 538 million yuan ($74.35 million) – kicked off on March 29 in the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone, situated in Taixing city, in East China's Jiangsu province.
Jiangsu New Heyi Machinery Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Jiangsu Railway Group, bought 100 mu (6.67 hectares) of industrial land for the plant, which on completion will produce 61,000 metric tons of piston rods annually.
Precision piston rod products made by Jiangsu Railway Group are widely used in wind power equipment, as well as in the marine and maritime sectors and high-speed rail.
Taixing city official Xiang Zikun said municipal government departments would establish the best conditions and resolve any practical difficulties to ensure smooth progress was made in building the plant.
