The county-level city of Taixing – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – continues to promote the development scale and quality of its health sector, which is fast-becoming an important part of the sector in the latter metropolis.
Medicine, food, heath care products and cosmeceuticals are four directions that the city is pushing to develop.
To be specific, the Taixing Economic Development Zone leverages its fine chemicals industry to develop chemical raw medicines and daily use cosmeceuticals, with the settlement there of promising companies – such as STA Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, Asymchem Inc Holding Company and BrightGene Bio-Medical Technology Co Ltd. A cosmeceuticals industry cluster is forming, with a planning area of 2.33 square kilometers.
A grease processing plant invested and operated by Royal Golden Eagle Group recently began pilot production, supplying leading brands including Liby Group, Kao Corporation, Unilever and Procter & Gamble.

Elsewhere, the Taixing Huangqiao Economic Development Zone is moving to build a highland of future foods and to develop a "Bio-fermentation and Future Food City of China". It focuses on enzyme preparations for foods, functional fermentation raw materials, probiotics and future high-end functional health foods.
The Urban Industrial Park specializes in medical equipment – with its medical consumables, medicinal apparatus and medicinal packaging operations constituting three superior industry supply chains.

The deep processing of agricultural products and the food industry are seen as primary drivers of the modern agricultural industrial park there. The park aims to build a health food supply base in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Moving forwards, Taixing is moving to cultivate two 10 billion ($1.45 billion) companies and more than 10 leading enterprises in niche markets.
