Huangqiao town – located in Taixing city in East China's Jiangsu province – is promoting the scale and cluster development of its musical instruments sector, in a bid to upgrade it and lead people to prosperity.
Huangqiao is renowned as the town of the violin in China, with its annual output accounting for an enormous 30 percent of the world market.
As the Spring Festival draws near, workers in Taixing Qinhai Musical Instruments Co Ltd are busy making a batch of cellos and violins for export.
"We are now producing at full capacity and our orders are already scheduled until May or June," said Zhang Ping, a manager of the company.
In the Yuanhao musical instrument factory in the town's Chenqiao village, a master Wang Guoping carefully checked each bow in his hands, from the shape, to its verticality and bow strings.
The factory, though modest in size, has an annual output of 250,000 bows. It also exports to overseas markets and has provided jobs for over 30 nearby villagers.
Around Chenqiao village, there are more than 10 violin supporting enterprises or workshops like Yuanhao, employing more than 150 villagers, said He Xin, an official of the village.
