chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: December 2, 2024

This year, Taicang Port has been enhancing its berthing capacity and diversifying its operations, helping businesses reduce logistics costs. These efforts have solidified Taicang Port's leading position along the Yangtze River.

Currently, Taicang Port operates 96 berths and has established five major shipping networks: inland feeder, Yangtze River consolidation, coastal domestic trade, near-sea direct routes, and far-sea transshipment. This means it now has the most extensive, dense, and wide-reaching routes of any port along the Yangtze River.

This year, Taicang Port has handled 2,395 large restricted vessels, including 752 Capesize bulk carriers.

In addition, Taicang Port stands as the largest export base along the Yangtze River for products such as photovoltaics, new energy vehicles, and lithium battery storage cabinets, with exported cars accounting for one-tenth of the national total.
