Taicang, Budapest's 15th District forge sister city partnership
Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou and the 15th District in Budapest, Hungry held an online signing ceremony on April 15 to become friendly exchange cities.
This agreement is aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the two places.
Mayor Xu Huadong of Taicang highlighted the similarities between Taicang and Budapest's 15th District, both being riverside regions with a focus on the development of the logistics industry. He expressed hopes that this signing would serve as a starting point for mutual government visits, increased people-to-people exchanges, and multi-sectoral and in-depth cooperation.
Cserdine Nemeth Angela, director of Budapest's 15th District, provided an overview of the district, touching on its location, transportation, urban planning, industrial development, and community investment. She expressed a desire for both sides to further strengthen relations.
The 15th District is a municipal district of Budapest, the capital of Hungary, covering an area of 26.95 square kilometers and with a population of approximately 80,000. The region’s largest community, Ujpalota, has a significant Chinese population and hosts a bilingual Chinese-Hungarian school.
