A delegation from Taicang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province, embarked on a business trip to Germany to seek investment opportunities from March 17 to 24.

During the eight-day visit, the delegation visited 15 cities across Germany, engaging in discussions with numerous German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and negotiating agreements on a total of 21 projects.

Among the notable companies the delegation met with was Brose Group, ranked as the fourth-largest family-owned automotive supplier globally and among the top 40 automotive suppliers worldwide.

Brose has already established three factories in Taicang, focusing on the production and development of car doors, seats, and motor drives. Taicang currently serves as the group's largest manufacturing base in the Asia-Pacific region. In August of last year, Brose decided to launch its new smart cockpit and door panel systems project in the Taicang High-Tech Zone.

During the meeting, discussions centered on Brose's upcoming intelligent driving project, aiming to expedite construction on the project. The delegation pledged to ensure the company's development and the implementation of the project by offering policy support and assistance in overcoming practical challenges.

Additionally, the delegation visited biotech company ViGeneron and its biological laboratory in Munich. They engaged in in-depth discussions with Dr Caroline Xu, the chief executive officer of ViGeneron, and the head of BioM Park about potential collaboration between Taicang and biopharmaceutical companies in Bavaria, exploring opportunities in the biopharmaceutical industry.
