Spring Festival boosts tourism in Taicang
Taicang, a city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, experienced a tourism boom during the Spring Festival holiday, welcoming a total of 982,000 visitors.
Throughout the holiday, the city hosted over 100 themed events, including traditional marketplaces, intangible cultural heritage showcases, flower exhibitions, cultural expos, and nighttime entertainment.
One of the highlights was the event in Shaxi Ancient Town, featuring traditional Spring Festival customs and a bustling marketplace in the Wisteria Corridor, attracting around 155,600 visitors.
The Yangtze River Estuary Tourism Resort organized a series of New Year activities that blended river and sea elements, cultural arts, and traditional customs, drawing in a total of 210,000 participants.
The city's comprehensive tourism offerings continued to expand, introducing new and exciting experiences for this Spring Festival. The Alps Snow World, the largest indoor skiing facility in the East China region, hosted 19,500 locals and tourists. ClubMed Taicang Resort achieved full occupancy with a 100 percent rental rate for guest rooms.
In addition, four key rural tourism destinations—Dianzhan village, Xiangtang village, Donglin village, and Liunan village—welcomed a combined total of 141,000 visitors from the city.
