Taicang food hits screen on CCTV

"Fried fish cakes made of bamboo shoots and anchovies," a popular dish in Taicang, Jiangsu province, was recently featured on China Central Television– channel 2 (CCTV-2).

The short video told a story of a father in Taicang who made fried fish cakes for his son and daughter-in-law. The video not only promoted Taicang's food culture but also symbolized family unity.

Taicang boasts abundant aquatic product resources thanks to its advantageous location next to the Yangtze River. Anchovy is a popular aquatic product in Taicang. The city also holds an annual seafood festival to improve its food profile.
