Xuhang town in Shanghai's Jiading district is about to welcome a new commercial hub, Xuhang Plaza, which will begin phased operations on Dec 23.
The first phase will feature a fresh produce supermarket, quality dining options, and convenient services. Over time, the plaza will fully open, offering a wide range of services, including family activities, cultural events, entertainment, and lifestyle options.
Xuhang Plaza covers about 35,000 square meters, featuring five above-ground floors and one underground level. The project is nearing completion of tenant agreements, with major brands like Hema NB (a neighboring business) and Spring Cinema already secured. Popular dining spots are also set to join. More brand announcements are expected as the plaza prepares to open.
Zhou Liqin, general manager of Xuhang Plaza, explained that opening in stages helps ensure quality, simplifies onboarding for new tenants, and improves the customer experience. This approach allows the plaza to meet community needs quickly while gradually expanding its offerings and fine-tuning operations.

Hema NB will open its Xuhang Plaza store on Dec 23, alongside a food court and HotMaxx. "We believe Xuhang Plaza's unique location and strong community potential align perfectly with our brand's goals," said Gong Fengfeng, the store manager. "We're confident about the growing consumer demand in Xuhang and nearby areas."
"Xuhang Plaza will fill a gap in the area's large commercial facilities and enhance the '15-minute community life circle'," Zhou added. The plaza plans to integrate closely with local needs by providing quality commercial resources, creating jobs, and hosting community events, growing alongside the community.
