A delegation of media representatives from Kazakhstan visited Jiading district in Shanghai on Aug 26 to explore technological innovation, industrial development, and international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. The visit was part of their seven-day tour in China, aimed at experiencing the dynamic economic growth driven by new quality productive forces.
The delegation's first stop was the EV-AI Smart Mobility Harbor, where they learned about cutting-edge automotive technologies, new energy vehicles, and smart connected vehicles. They also experienced a test ride in an autonomous vehicle. Dulat Rumagazin from Toppress News Agency expressed his amazement, stating, "The autonomous driving experience was novel and comfortable. I didn't expect it to already be part of daily life in China."
Next, the delegation visited the Shanghai Auto Museum, which features over 100 vintage cars. The display of Hongqi cars particularly interested the journalists. Rumagazin noted, "About 50 percent of cars in Kazakhstan are from China, including many Hongqi cars. Their dignified appearance aligns with my impression of China."
At Tongji-Jiading Science Park and the Jiading Hydrogen Park, the delegation explored hydrogen fuel cell laboratories and learned about the development of hydrogen energy systems. Saida Zakhinova from Industrial News highlighted the potential for cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in promoting hydrogen energy.
The delegation also visited the Jiading Comprehensive Bonded Zone, where they discussed the "new four modernizations" - electrification, networking, intellectualization and sharing - of automobiles and international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Liubov Dobrota from Kazakhstanskaya Pravda found the operational model of China's bonded zones particularly insightful.
The visit concluded with tours of the Shanghai International Short Video Center and Johnson Fitness Equipment (Shanghai) Co Ltd, providing the delegation with a comprehensive view of Jiading's innovative landscape.
