Jiading district in Shanghai has unveiled a new outdoor worker support station in the Juyuan Community, providing round-the-clock assistance to outdoor workers like sanitation staff, delivery personnel, and couriers.
Equipped with amenities such as a refrigerator, water dispenser, free mineral water, protective gear, and a first aid kit, the station offers respite for workers during the scorching days of summer.
Workers like delivery riders Ran Xiaotao and Mi Yafeng have found solace in the station, using the facilities to reheat meals and cool off. Mi praised the station's thoughtful provision of cooling sleeves on hot days.
In a bid to further support workers, the station plans to introduce electric bike charging services by the month's end. Additionally, an innovative job information board has been set up to connect job seekers with career opportunities.
Jiading district boasts a network of 84 outdoor worker support stations, with more plans to expand and enhance services in the future. Through platforms like Baidu Maps, workers can easily locate these stations. The district aims to continue integrating resources to better serve outdoor workers and strengthen community ties.
