The 2024 Juyuan New Area Economic Development Conference took place in Jiading district, Shanghai, on March 8, highlighting the area's high-quality economic development.
The event saw the signing and settlement of 15 projects with a total investment of 1.86 billion yuan ($259 million), including significant ventures such as the Thermoelectric Semiconductor Project of the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics and an artificial intelligence industry base.
During the conference, the Shanghai Silk Road E-commerce International Industrial Park Settled Project Signing Ceremony was held. The park, which opened last November, has attracted 30 companies, half of which are foreign-funded ones, and it plans to attract 500 companies, said Pan Zhen, general manager of the park.
Additionally, the conference unveiled plans for two concept verification centers, namely Auto-Chip (targeting automotive chips) and Bio-IC (targeting integrated circuits and biopharmaceuticals). These centers aim to support scientists in accelerating the transformation and industrialization of innovative achievements.
The conference also released a high-quality scientific and technological talent service project to attract and retain scientific and technological talents in Juyuan New Area.
According to local officials, Juyuan New Area aims to enhance its brand as a hub for science and technology and continue to attract and support high-quality industrial projects, fostering a strong environment for investment and innovation.
