Shanghai's Jiading district saw a boom in the culture and tourism sector during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday period.

According to Jiading's culture and tourism bureau, the district's major tourist attractions welcomed 769,500 tourists during the holiday, a 16.84 percent increase compared to last year.

The attractions held various activities which have proved popular with tourists. For example, Nanxiang Old Street's Guochao Market was a hotspot that offered a variety of national brands, popular delicacies, and cultural handicrafts. Nine folk performances, including bamboo carving, straw weaving, Shanghai Opera, and dragon and lion dances, provided tourists with a taste of the district's rich cultural heritage.

Jiading's scenic spots also worked on innovating their cultural tourism experiences. Jiabei Country Park focused on rice-themed activities, while Shanghai Guyi Garden organized intangible cultural heritage activities to highlight Mid-Autumn Festival traditions.

Exhibitions and cultural museums also attracted a significant number of attendees. The pop-up micro-exhibition "Passing through Paris" at the Shanghai Automobile Museum showcased European aristocratic carriages from the 19th century.

Additionally, rural leisure activities such as sightseeing, camping, and farming, were immensely popular. Homestays at Yunong Manor were fully booked, and Baiguo Park's cultural tourism projects, including parent-child scientific investigations and barbecue camping, attracted over 1,000 visitors daily.

In addition, various public cultural venues organized 768 activities that drew 112,000 people.
