A rural tourism boutique route in Shanghai's Jiading district recently made a national-level list. Launched by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the list aims to promote rural tourism routes across the country. Among the 143 routes nationwide, Jiading district stands out with its theme of "Returning to Simplicity: Embracing Agrotourism."
The route takes visitors on a healing journey through Huating town in Jiading. Huating town, located in the northernmost part of Jiading, offers a picturesque countryside experience.
With its dense paddy fields and abundance of agricultural specialties, tourists can immerse themselves in idyllic scenery, witness agricultural farming, and engage in various activities such as fruit and vegetable picking, farmhouse-style catering, and outdoor sports.
The itinerary of the route includes visits to several scenic spots and farms. It starts from Huating Cantaloupe Theme Park and ends at Liudao Habitat for Wildlife, passing Xiangyue Huating, Hengjiazhuang Manor, and Yunong Manor along the way.
The best times to do the route are April to June and September to October. Visitors can enjoy local specialty foods like Huating rice cakes, Huating four flavors, Jiading white garlic, and Huating cantaloupe. The route is easily accessible by car, located approximately 40 kilometers from downtown Shanghai, or a 50-minute drive.
