As the temperature continues to rise, water lilies are starting to gradually bloom in Shanghai's Jiading district, attracting many visitors.
In the pond at Jiading New City Lotus Base, nearly 70 water lilies are blooming, and when the breeze blows, the delicate pink flowers seem to dance in the water.
Water lilies love sun and ventilation, and the flowers close at night and open again in the morning, according to the staff at the base. A total of about 1,000 square meters of water lilies were planted in the pond, which have begun to bloom one after another this month and will enter their peak flowering period from June to August, which will last two to five days.
Water lilies are appreciated for their rich colors. Around the pond, many visitors stopped and took out their mobile phones and cameras to take pictures of the flowers. "It's like entering Monet's garden and one can feel the charm and vitality of nature," said Wang Yihan, a local resident.
