Overseas performances return to Shanghai

( english.jiading.gov.cn ) 2023-03-22

According to the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, it plans to resume the acceptance and approval of foreign-related commercial performances from March 20, which is great news for major performing centers in Shanghai.

Gautier Capuçon, a famous cellist from France, is expected to perform at the Shanghai Concert Hall on April 20 and 21 for his Chinese fans.

The Shanghai International Art Festival Center has been maintaining communication with foreign performers for the past three years, and it plans to present a series of high-quality performances to the public and accelerate the recovery of the Shanghai performance market.

In addition, other Shanghai performing arts centers are promptly submitting approval materials for foreign-related commercial performances. From May to June, David Frey, Ivo Pogorelich and Gidon Kremer are expected to perform at the Shanghai Concert Hall.

It is foreseeable that more quality performances from overseas will be staged in Shanghai. The French version of the musical Romeo and Juliet is expected to be presented at the Shanghai Cultural Plaza in May and a related tour, which is intended to attract more audiences to the theater, will take place at the same time.

A series of overseas modern dramas, musicals, concerts have all been included in the Cultural Plaza's program schedule.
