To boost Jiading's development in sectors such as innovative medical equipment and intelligent manufacturing, the Shanghai Malu Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park project broke ground in Jiading's Malu town on Feb 28.
Located along the Bao'an Highway, the project is scheduled to be completed in April 2024, and put into use two months thereafter. Covering a construction area of 62,457 square meters and a floor area of 100,620 square meters, the park integrates functions such as research and development, production and warehousing.
The area where the project is being built was once a logistics park, which was declared unsafe and hard to renovate. After careful planning, the government decided to demolish the old factories and transform the area into a place that provides services for local high-tech enterprises and hospitals.
According to Xu Mingye, the person in charge of the industrial development center in Malu town, the park will attract a great number of relevant enterprises to set up in the area by providing high-quality services at a low cost, and it is expected to help extend industrial chains and accelerate Jiading's economic growth.
