( english.jiading.gov.cn ) 2023-02-20

The metaverse industry has blossomed thanks to the flowering of the latest technologies such as 5G, blockchain, virtual reality and artificial intelligence.

The Shanghai Jiading Metaverse Industry Promotion Association was recently established in Nanxiang, with 30 members and seven governing units. The association focuses on such aspects as games, entertainment, sports, tourism, AR/VR and MR and targets boosting the metaverse industry.

People can change their own digital image immediately by decorating at any time or raise an e-pet while travelling. This is the future scene in the three-dimensional block Xinhua Cloud Street, which is jointly built by BITVERSE and Xinhuanet. In the future, people will wear VR devices and enter the virtual world to become "meta-residents".

"Xinhua Cloud Street gathers many small and medium-sized enterprises and shops. Users can not only go shopping, but also participate in various activities," said Chen Cheng, producer of the BITVERSE's metaverse.

Relying on Jiading's policy support and resources, the company will focus on exploring metaverse scenarios and applications in terms of digital infrastructure and assets.

Lantian Economic City in Nanxiang has strong industrial advantages to combine games and blockchain with metaverse. The area is providing practitioners with butler-style services and advancing the application of blockchain technology-based scenarios.
