Jiangqiao town in the Jiading Area of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District is accelerating construction of three benchmark projects of "one district, one city and one bay", namely North Hongqiao District, Shanghai Lingang-Jiading Science and Technology City and Hongqiao Xinhui Headquarters Bay.
Based on the development concept of "opening up North Hongqiao and boosting innovation", Jiangqiao town has strengthened its pillar industries such as health care, new materials, digital trade and services, automobile design and research and development, fashion creativity and tourism, continuously optimized its industrial structure and added new momentum to the high-quality development of the entire region.
In terms of investment promotion, the town has attracted key enterprises such as Kindly Group, Shanghai Totole Food Ltd and Huazhu Group, and given full play to the role of advantageous sectors including North Hongqiao's medical device capacity, digital trade and condiment production to form a comprehensive industrial agglomeration.
In recent years, Jiangqiao town has also sped up the innovation and development of the medical and health industry with the construction of the Hongqiao International Innovative Medical Device Industrial Park, which is in full swing.
Led by Kindly Group, the industrial park has attracted 12 companies to settle in Jiading, focusing on the five major R&D fields of cardiology, peripheral treatment, orthopedics, urology and nerves. It has formed a complete medical device industry chain.
At the beginning of this year, the second phase of the park dismantled all scaffolding and entered the stage of interior decoration.
Scheduled to be opened in May, the park will provide enterprises with professional services such as one-stop evaluation of research and development technology, joint research on key common technologies, and achievement evaluation and transformation, and will help realize leapfrog development of the high-end medical device industry.
The rapid progress of the park is a microcosm of the vigorous development of the North Hongqiao Business District.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), the North Hongqiao District will continue to take full advantage of the Yangtze River Delta and the open hub of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District and play a vital part in China's dual-circulation development paradigm.
Shanghai Lingang-Jiading Science and Technology City is shortening the construction period and striving to attract more investment. It is home to 200 enterprises, which generated tax revenue of 110 million yuan ($16.38 million) last year.
As a gateway node linking the urban agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta, Hongqiao Xinhui Headquarters Bay plans to introduce 23 R&D headquarters in the future.
At the beginning of this year, Wells Advanced Materials (Shanghai) Co Ltd, Shanghai Lanke Environmental Technology Co and Zenitek Intelligent completed the structural capping of their headquarters buildings. The projects of Argus and Jushri Technologies are expected to be completed and put into production in the first quarter of this year.
