Libyan businessman works at dream job in Shanghai

Hamudi Matough, a Libyan who works as a Global Business Lead for Mihoyo Singapore, whose Chinese branch is situated in Jiaidng, Shanghai, manages various verticals in the global business unit, including brand partnerships across all of the company's intellectual properties (IPs), IP licensing, and collaborating on digital platforms.

When Matough first arrived in China, he searched for success and riches, so he gave himself the Chinese name Long Yi, which means "dragon wings".

Matough views Mihoyo as a business that enjoys a worldwide reputation for producing games and content that are both innovative and distinctive. Matough dreamed of working in the gaming industry since he was a boy. Currently, the latest two games created by the company, Genshin Impact and Honkai Impact 3rd are well known worldwide and often top the best game charts as well as win numerous industry awards. Matough also plays them and feels so proud that he has made contributions to their success.

According to Matough, Chinese businesses aren't hesitant to experiment and challenge the status quo, and their expansion into markets like Singapore has had a noticeable impact, especially by creating a large number of new jobs with competitive salaries.
