As the first national-level pilot demonstration zone for intelligent networked vehicles in Shanghai, Jiading district has been promoting the gathering and development of intelligent new energy vehicles in an integrated manner.
Based on the previous 53.6-kilometer intelligent transformation test road, the district has added a new supporting perception system covering 174 km of roads and 208 intersections, creating a standardized, light-weight and large-scale vehicle-road coordinated demonstration benchmark based on technologies of artificial intelligence, perception and internet-connected communication.
Shen Lirong, manager of the intelligent connected automobile business department of Shanghai International Automobile City, is working with his team on a plan to launch a municipal-level platform that connects vehicles, city and internet.
The platform will be designed to better provide important data support for the entire city's transportation development.
Jiading district took the lead in becoming an international demonstration area for electric vehicles in 2011, established a national intelligent connected vehicle pilot demonstration zone in 2015, and completed the Shanghai Intelligent Vehicle Software Park in 2021, showing that the district has been stepping up efforts to develop the automotive industry.
