A signing ceremony for the France-based automotive exterior parts and fuel systems provider Plastic Omnium New Energy Division to settle in Jiading Hydrogen Port was held in Jiading district on Aug 31.
According to the agreement, Plastic Omnium aims to expand its hydrogen energy business in China by investing in and establishing an Asian headquarters, an Asian research and development center, and a production and manufacturing base of the New Energy Division.
The enterprise also aims to further improve the technical chain, industrial chain and innovation chain at Jiading Hydrogen Port and help the port form a complete industrial ecology of hydrogen energy integrating production, storage, transportation, processing, and usage.
The enterprise plans to build the first world-class factory at Jiading Hydrogen Port for the production of type IV hydrogen vessels and expects to begin operations in 2025, said Wang Jian, general manager of the Asia Division of Plastic Omnium New Energy Division.
Jiading district has been stepping up its efforts to develop the hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicle industry and aims to achieve over 100 billion yuan ($14.57 billion) in total output of hydrogen energy and fuel cell vehicles by 2025, said Lu Fangzhou, Party secretary of Jiading district.
