A British teacher lends helping hand to grid-screening in Jiading

( english.jiading.gov.cn ) 2022-03-22

Adam James McIlmoyle, a British teacher at the ECNUAS Affiliated Bilingual School, recently helped in community service while grid-based nucleic acid screening was happening in Anting town, Shanghai's Jiading district.

McIlmoyle underwent nucleic acid testing in his neighborhood following the control and prevention requirements to fight against the COVID-19 epidemic in Shanghai.

"The whole process of taking a nucleic acid test took only 30 minutes," McIlmoyle said, he was impressed by the orderly arrangement of the community.

He has been informing residents in the neighborhood to take the nucleic acid test and distributing proof stickers to residents who have done the test since volunteering in the community.

He began practicing speaking Chinese before his first day of volunteer work in order to inform the residents in clear Chinese.

"I am glad to lend a hand to the community's work against the epidemic," he added.
