Shanghai's Jiading district held a conference for stabilizing business and promoting investment on Feb 7, partnering with 12 renowned institutions and signing contracts for 95 key industrial projects worth 23.07 billion yuan ($3.63 billion) at the conference.
The 12 global strategic cooperation partners, including consulting companies like Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Deloitte, as well as associations like the China Association of Trade in Services and China Automotive Talents Society, will help boost the economic development of the district.
Jiading district bolstered its efforts to implement supportive policies and improve its business environment in order to boost its economic development last year. Statistics showed that the district's annual added value in 2021 reached 270.56 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1 percent from that in 2020.
In addition, the district has achieved fruitful results in industrial transformation last year with its strategic emerging industries achieving two-digit growth in output value.
Three 100 billion-dollar industries, which are automobiles, smart sensors and the internet of things, and precision medicine, achieved a total output of 167.87 billion yuan in 2021, an increase of 28.9 percent from that in 2020.
The district has caught the attention of many businesses by carrying out investment attraction events regularly last year, and 55,000 new companies have settled in the district.
