Fifteen buses equipped with hydrogen fuel cell systems developed by the Jiading district-based Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology Co (SHPT) were delivered to three bus companies in Shanghai on Dec 30, 2021.
It is the largest batch of hydrogen fuel cell buses that have delivered to the metropolis and the buses will be put into use at the beginning of this year.
SHPT's PROME P390 hydrogen fuel cell system is an all-in-one system that integrates high power density, high durability, and high reliability. It has been improved in terms of power compared to the PROME P260 hydrogen fuel cell system, which has already been equipped on No 114 buses in Jiading.
It takes about 15 minutes for hydrogen fuel cell buses to recharge, costing much less time than the electric vehicles that take three to four hours, so this aspect is a definite improvement for the efficient operation of buses.
In addition, the hydrogen fuel cell system is able to realize extreme cold temperatures with its cold start mechanism for temperatures below minus 30 degrees Celsius.
