Shanghai supports further growth of Chinese and foreign enterprises

( en.sh-italent.com ) 2018-12-13

Shanghai will give full support to help Chinese and foreign enterprises to expand their businesses and grow further in the city, said Li Qiang, Party secretary of Shanghai, during a meeting with Victor Luis, CEO of US-based luxury brand house Tapestry, on Dec 7.

Li said that Shanghai, China's largest economic center, is building up a "Shopping in Shanghai" brand and is working on developing into an international consumer city.

The city will provide bigger platforms and create a better business environment for the development of global fashion companies and fashion brands, according to Li.

Li also remarked that Tapestry's brands are preferred by Chinese and overseas consumers and its development strategy matches Shanghai's urban and industrial development. He expected the company will place more new product releases, creative designs, and emerging businesses in Shanghai.

Li welcomed Tapestry to participate in the China International Import Expo, an annual event showing China's efforts to open their doors wider to the outside world, which brings many development opportunities.

Victor Luis mentioned Shanghai was chosen as the venue of the launch of its 2019 spring new product range, the first city to do so apart from New York.

Luis vowed to increase its investments in Shanghai and deepen mutual cooperation in new product releases, fashion design, and talent training, because they thought the Chinese market is promising and Shanghai is an appealing commerce city and fashion capital.
