An exhibition on intangible cultural heritage kicked off in Jiading district of Shanghai on Dec 15, giving local residents an opportunity to enjoy a feast of traditional culture. The two weeks long exhibition will run until Dec 28.
The event has been sponsored by the Jiading Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Office, Jiading Culture Museum and Shanghai Arts and Crafts Research Institute. It aimed to introduce local cultural heritage to more people and call on them to help protect and preserve the traditional culture.
The organizers said that the exhibits included a large number of national intangible cultural heritage items such as Jiading bamboo carving, Xuhang straw weaving, Shanghai-style paper cuts and Huangyang wood carving. The works on display is associated with people's life that they may remind visitors of their childhood.
