Alshaa League gears up to boost sci-tech innovation in 2023

Updated: 2023-03-09

Alshaa League – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – is aiming to boost its sci-tech innovation and to galvanize its  high-quality development in 2023, in the wake of goals mapped out during its annual science and technology work conference on March 2.

The league is to implement related policies including 24 measures to boost scientific and technological development, promote the Alshaa High-tech Zone as a national level high-tech zone, as well as to help the Alshaa League Fine Chemical High-tech Incubator become a national platform.

It has been deemed necessary to speed up the creation of a talent cultivation chain and focus on bringing in people who are urgently needed for the economic and social development of the league.

Plans are for efforts to be made in leading industries with special local characteristics – including Alshaa Bactrian camels, white cashmere goats, as well as cistanche deserticola, used in various medicines – and in breakthroughs in key technologies, such as the development of value-added functional products.

The league is also to focus on eight major industrial clusters, among them the new chemicals and the new materials sectors. It will also focus on breakthroughs in technologies – including in the green and low-carbon modern chemicals industry, new energy storage and in clean energy conversion.

In addition, progress is predicted in smart tourism, smart port management and in automated customs clearances.
