Alshaa League makes progress in forest and grassland protection

The Alshaa League has completed the tasks of protecting 1.16 million mu of grassland,  549,000 mu of afforestation and 12,000 mu of degraded forest restoration, according to the Forestry and Grass Bureau of Alshaa League.

In 2022, Alshaa League has embarked on the tasks of 11.6 million mu of forest and grassland ecological protection, including 10 million mu of grassland protection and construction, and one million mu of afforestation. The greening in key areas will reach 30,000 mu, and 856,000 trees will be planted. 

To date, 22,000 mu of greening has been completed in key areas, and 856,000 trees have been planted, completing the annual tasks.

Alshaa League will continue to implement projects such as afforestation by aerial seeding setting apart sand areas for tree growing. It will complete the restoration of degraded forests and accurate improvement of forest quality, so as to ensure forest and grass ecological protection.
