Inner Mongolia's flagship cultural performance to stage in Hohhot
The Impression Inner Mongolia Morin Khuur Concert, a flagship cultural IP of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will be staged in Hohhot city on Jan 17.
It will showcase a renewed production that blends tradition with modernity, connecting ethnic heritage with global musical expression for audiences.
The concert will bring together leading regional ensembles, including Uxin Banner Morin Khuur Symphony Orchestra and Ordos Ulan Muqir, under the baton of renowned conductor Yeerda. Featuring national-level performers, inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, and outstanding young artists, the lineup highlights the region's rich cultural legacy and creative vitality.
Centered on the morin khuur, the performance will creatively integrate Mongolian long song and khoomei (Mongolian throat singing) with a variety of art forms, including Chinese drums, suona (a double-reed woodwind instrument), and Peking Opera.
The Hohhot performance will take place at the newly upgraded Hohhot Sports Center, which features a specially designed water-screen stage for an immersive audiovisual experience.
