Enhe Hada town, located at the northernmost tip of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, inaugurated its 5G network on Dec 5.

The establishment of 5G base stations has not only facilitated seamless communication between local government, stationed units, and the outside world, but has also brought a high-speed and convenient communication network and information services to the border region.

"In the past, we often went without internet for several days, making it difficult to access work materials in a timely manner and communicate with the outside world,” stated Mou Dongyin, a police officer at the Enhe Hada Border Police Station during a phone interview with a reporter on Dec 11.

Mou added that with the introduction of 5G network, accessing information and materials has become more convenient, and communication with colleagues and superiors has become smoother.

Enhe Hada town faces significant challenges in communication infrastructure development due to its remote geographical location and harsh natural environment.

Construction of the 5G base station in the town was plagued by heavy snowfall and plummeting temperatures, leading to road closures, disrupted material transportation, and difficulties in excavating frozen soil.

Workers from China Mobile's Urgune city branch persevered through these challenges, transporting equipment under extreme conditions, and successfully completed optical cable fusion, tower construction, and equipment testing to officially launch the 5G base station.
