The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Energy Bureau and the China Economic Information Service recently released the "China–Inner Mongolia Modern Energy Economy Development Index Report (2024)."

The results show that in 2023, Inner Mongolia's modern energy economy development index rapidly grew, reaching 164.25 points, an increase of 11.55 percent year over year. Since the baseline year, the index has achieved an average annual compound growth rate of 10.43 percent, indicating a significant improvement in both quality and development speed.

The sub-indexes reveal steady and progressive growth across four dimensions: low-carbon transition, innovation-driven development, economic efficiency, and social contribution.

Despite the complex domestic and international challenges, these dimensions highlight the vitality and potential of Inner Mongolia's modern energy economy.

Data from 2023 shows that Inner Mongolia led the country in 10 key energy fields: total installed capacity of new energy, newly installed new energy capacity, new energy power generation, total installed power capacity, newly installed power capacity, total power generation, electricity transmission, coal transportation, completion of coal supply tasks, and coal-to-gas production capacity.
