Inner Mongolia to promote coordinated tourism development in northeastern China region
The "Decision of the Standing Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional People's Congress on Promoting Coordinated Tourism Development in the Three Northeastern Provinces and One Autonomous Region" officially came into effect on July 1.
This decision aims to provide institutional support for the coordinated development of the tourism industry across Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces and Inner Mongolia autonomous region, establishing and improving cooperative mechanisms to enhance overall competitiveness.
The decision outlines the establishment of a three-tiered mechanism for coordinated development: provincial and regional governments will set up a mechanism to advance tourism collaboration, addressing major issues in tourism development together; tourism authorities will establish regular communication and consultation mechanisms to jointly promote and implement regional cooperation initiatives; and local governments within the provinces and the autonomous region are encouraged to create cross-regional tourism development cooperation mechanisms.
Highlighting the unique tourism attractions of the three northeastern provinces and one region, the decision emphasizes the coordinated development of ice and snow tourism, eco-tourism, ethnic cultural tourism, industrial tourism, agricultural and pastoral tourism, and border tourism.
It also calls for accelerating the development of new tourism models, formats, and experiences in line with current and future trends of integrating tourism with other sectors.
