The Inner Mongolia delegation to the second session of the 14th National People's Congress held a plenary meeting in Beijing on March 3, where they made the decision to submit a proposal that Inner Mongolia should have an observer role in relation to the collaborative development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

In October 2023, the State Council issued the "Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Inner Mongolia and Striving to Write a New Chapter of Chinese-Style Modernization".

The article 25 proposed that Inner Mongolia should integrate into the collaborative development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and deepen cooperation with Beijing.

The article 28 proposed supporting the formation of alliances between universities in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, and Inner Mongolia, and advancing the direct assistance of local universities in Inner Mongolia by universities under the Ministry of Education.

Currently, based on previous Beijing-Inner Mongolia cooperation, the two places have jointly built 606 agricultural and animal product production bases and 72 industrial parks.

In addition, 365 schools and 308 hospitals in Beijing have provided paired assistance to their counterparts in Inner Mongolia.
