On Jan 4, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region unveiled 14 major demonstration engineering technology lists for its low-carbon energy sector.

These technologies focus on the construction of nationally important energy and strategic resource bases. They encompass areas such as new energy, hydrogen energy, energy storage, energy conservation, carbon reduction, and the clean and efficient utilization of coal.

The lists include topics such as "research and industrial demonstration of high-efficiency and high-stability onshore large-scale wind power equipment", "key technologies for renewable energy hydrogen and ammonia production and application", and "development and application of tower-type high-temperature molten salt absorbers with high absorption rates".

The implementation period for these projects is set at three years, with a total budget of 83 million yuan ($11.37 million). It is expected to leverage over 160 million yuan in local and corporate matching investments.

Leading enterprises and institutions within the region will take charge of these projects, forming innovative alliances to collaborate on research and development.

The projects will be managed under the leadership of chief scientists, granting project teams greater autonomy. The aim is to guide the teams in establishing a sound and efficient assessment mechanism that emphasizes incentives, power delegation, tolerance, objectivity, and efficiency.
