The world's largest PEM hydrogen production project for new energy has settled in Fengzhen city, which is administrated by Ulaanqab in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
The signing ceremony for the project took place on June 27.
According to Nie Haijun, director of the development and reform commission of Fengzhen city, the project includes the construction of a hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing park with an annual production capacity of 50,000 metric tons of green hydrogen.
The project, which utilizes internationally advanced PEM hydrogen production technology, is jointly invested by Rongke Hydrogen Energy Co and Power China Kunming Engineering Corporation Limited.
The total investment of the project exceeds 33 billion yuan ($4.71 billion).
It is expected to drive a hydrogen energy equipment manufacturing output value of 15 billion yuan, while the annual output value of the manufacturing sector is tipped to hit 5 billion yuan.Ulanqab reportedly has a wind field area of 6,828 square kilometers, with a technical exploitable capacity of 68 million kW and a wind power installed capacity of 4.85 million kW.
