With the successful launch of the Shenzhou XVI manned spaceship on May 30, 56 experimental materials from North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region were flown into space aboard the spacecraft to start the space-carrying experiment.

The materials relate to Inner Mongolia's advantageous and characteristic industries, such as grass, potatoes, corn, and Chinese and Mongolian medicine.

They are undergoing experiments by Inner Mongolia's 12 universities, research institutes and enterprises. These include the Inner Mongolia Academy of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Sciences, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Grassland Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the Mengcao Ecological Environment Group.

Inner Mongolia is contributing the highest number of participating units in the space-carrying experiment since 2018.
