The fourth China Great Wall Forum successfully kicked off in Ulaanqab city, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 25.

This year's forum was themed on "The Great Wall and Cultural Confidence."

It attracted the participation of around 300 experts and scholars, including those from the Great Wall Society of China and several academic associations from cities along the Great Wall.

They conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges, focusing on the Great Wall's significance in national defense, the need to protect Great Wall culture and its relics in the new era, the historical value of the Great Wall, and the cultural and national spirit of the Great Wall.

The forum also announced the list of excellent academic papers on the Great Wall. A total of 192 academic papers were submitted, signifying the most submissions ever received during any Great Wall forum.

Among them, the "Integrated Convergence with China: Historical Facts and Times Value of Multi-Ethnic Integration in the Northern Great Wall", which was selected by Ulaanqab city, won first prize this year.

Inner Mongolia is an area where the Great Wall is widely distributed. The total length of the Great Wall surveyed in the region so far is 7,570 kilometers, accounting for one-third of the total length of the Great Wall in China.

Among them, more than 1,500 kilometers of the Great Wall in Ulaanqab city was built during the Qin, Han, Northern Wei, Jin and Ming dynasties.

Ulaanqab is one of the areas with the most preserved section of Great Wall that was built in different eras. It has witnessed great historical events, the integration of various ethnic groups, and the development of pluralism and unity in China.
