Inner Mongolia sees tourism boom in first quarter
In the first quarter of this year, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region received a total of 336.70 million visits, which was 2.14 times that of the same period in 2022.
To achieve such goals, Inner Mongolia launched 15 measures to promote the recovery and development of its culture and tourism industries.
They include arranging special funds to support the construction of tourism projects, the development of cultural and tourism activities, rewards for attracting tourists, external publicity and promotion, and product inheritance and innovation.
Meanwhile, Inner Mongolia has also encouraged financial institutions to issue the "Financial Support for the High-quality Development of Cultural and Tourism Industries" initiative, helping local cultural and tourism companies to obtain loans worth 3.5 billion yuan ($503.60 million).
Moreover, Inner Mongolia carried out several tourism promotion activities, signed more than 100 tourist exchange agreements, and implemented 20 investment projects with an intentional fund of 6.28 billion yuan.
Inner Mongolia also designed and launched 36 immersive tourism experience to increase tourism popularity, and developed 14 boutique travel routes, 30 characteristic boutique travel routes for intangible cultural heritage, and 94 rural travel routes. Additionally, it built 95 self-tour campsites, and organized more than 5,600 cultural and tourist-focused activities.
