A total of 48 agreements for industry cooperation projects were signed between North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

This was announced at an industry project promotion meeting held in Shaanxi's capital city Xi'an on Aug 14.

Wang Lixia, chairwoman of the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and Zhao Yide, governor of the Shaanxi Provincial Government, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

Wang thanked the Shaanxi Provincial Government for building a promotion platform for Inner Mongolia.

She said that Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia are located next to each other and have complementary strengths and common needs in many aspects such as humanities, resources, industries and markets.

Wang expressed hope that the province and autonomous region will work together to implement national strategies such as the high-quality joint construction of the "Belt and Road", promoting the formation of a new pattern of western development in the new era, environmental protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin, and building an urban agglomeration around Hohhot, Baotou, Ordos and Yulin.

The two sides are also expected to cooperate in energy economy, infrastructure, environment protection, culture, tourism, science and education to create a new model for regional cooperation, a new platform for opening-up to the outside world, and a new hub for industrial upgrading.

The departments of science and technology, the departments of culture and tourism of the two sides, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shaanxi committee and Inner Mongolia committee also signed work deals at the meeting.
