The total industrial profits above a designated size in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region in 2021 reached 338.08 billion yuan ($50.72 billion), a year-on-year increase of 148.8 percent and a record high.

To boost the high-quality and rapid development of the region's industrial economy, Inner Mongolia has adjusted its industrial supply structure and improved its industrial park layout.

The number of industrial parks in the region decreased from 112 to 56 and the average output value per mu increased from 520,000 yuan to 550,000 yuan.

Last year, 24 high-tech projects finished construction and were put into operation throughout the year, adding a total of 855,000 metric tons in new production capacity.

Strong efforts had also been made to promote the high-quality, intelligent and green development of the region's manufacturing industry.

In 2021, Inner Mongolia started construction on 15 equipment manufacturing projects, with seven projects being completed.

In 2022, the region plans to implement 3,289 major projects with a total of 2.7 trillion yuan in investment.

The projects involve such fields as energy, advanced manufacturing and emerging industries.
