Over the past month, Dalai Nuur National Nature Reserve in Hexigten Banner in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has attracted hundreds of thousands of migrant birds to rest at the Dalai Nuur Lake.
Most of the birds are whooper swans, which fly from Siberia during late September and late October each year.

After resting and practicing flying formations, they will continue their southbound journey.
The reserve has provided a larger and better habitat, attracting more migrant birds to take their first break in the long journery.
