Inner Mongolia athletes shine at 14th National Games

The sports team of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region gave a strong performance at the 14th National Games, which was held in Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Sept 15-27.

A total of 198 athletes from Inner Mongolia fought tenaciously in 19 major and 109 minor events. 

They won eight gold medals, five silver medals, and 10 bronze medals at the games. Both the numbers of medals and the number of gold medals increased significantly compared with previous events.

Judo, equestrianism, race walking, wrestling, and boxing were the highlights for the Inner Mongolia team.

The Inner Mongolia Judo team fielded a total of 21 players, among which 10 of them won four golds and four bronzes.

The Inner Mongolia swimming team, which was established just three years ago, won a bronze medal.

Among the mass events, Inner Mongolia achieved success in mass football, square dance, and Chinese wrestling.
