Inner Mongolia thrives under Party's leadership

North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, as the first ethnic autonomous region in China, has achieved high-quality development under the leadership of the Party.

Significant improvements were made over a 100-year period, especially during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20).

Over this five-year period, the per capita GDP among residents of Inner Mongolia exceeded $10,000, and the urbanization rate of the permanent population exceeded 64 percent. 

Inner Mongolia harvested grain for 17 consecutive years, and its output of raw coal and coal sold outside the autonomous region, as well its wind power installed capacity and rare earth compound production capacity, ranked first in the country.

Meanwhile, the ratio of Inner Mongolia's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries changed from 12.6:40.7:46.7 in 2015 to 11.7:39.6:48.8 in 2020, forming a new economic development pattern based on agriculture and animal husbandry, with the service sector at its core, and featuring the continuous optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure.

As of the end of 2020, the number of high-tech enterprises in Inner Mongolia exceeded 1,000, more than four times the number in 2015, with more than 1,000 new technologies being promoted.

Additionally, Inner Mongolia attached heavy importance to the development of an ecological civilization.

From 2016 to 2020, Inner Mongolia afforested more than 47 million mu (3.13 million hectares) of land, planting an average of 30 million mu of grass per year. 

The forest coverage rate of the entire region has reached 23 percent, the comprehensive vegetation coverage of grasslands has reached 45 percent, and nearly 72 million mu of desertification land had been restored.
