The Chinese character artworks exhibition — part of the Bangkok Chinese Character Art Festival — was recently held at the same time at Chulalongkorn University's art museum in Thailand and at the Shanlian Chinese Character Art Institute in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
The exhibition used Chinese characters as an artistic medium, featuring artworks, writing experiences, and cultural creations, making Chinese characters a unique bridge connecting the cultures and emotions of both nations.
In the Thai exhibition hall, artworks combining calligraphy, painting, and modern design captivated many visitors. Supa, a university student from Chiang Mai, said that he truly appreciated the beauty of Chinese characters through the artworks. He added that Chinese characters were not just words, but resembled paintings and stories.
Professor Suwa, a key promoter of the exhibition in Thailand, said that art was the most beautiful language connecting Thai and Chinese people. He added that the exhibition displayed the beauty of Chinese characters and conveyed friendship, understanding, and mutual respect.

The Shanlian Chinese Character Art Institute in Huzhou's Shanlian town displayed nearly 100 pieces blending tradition and innovation. Themed on "The Vitality of Chinese Characters", the exhibition elevated Chinese characters from writing tools to cultural symbols, highlighting their philosophical and aesthetic value.
The dual-city exhibition provided a glimpse into Sino-Thai cultural exchanges. The Bangkok festival received over 3,000 reservations before opening, while Shanlian attracted numerous visitors and scholars.
