The annual lotus flower exhibition at Lianhuazhuang Park in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province started on July 4, featuring over 50 lotus varieties and more than 1,500 pots of lotus flowers.

Running for about two weeks, the exhibition offers a perfect summer experience of flower viewing, cooling off, and cultural enjoyment — making it a must-visit destination this season.

At the event, visitors gather around the lotus ponds, admire the blooms, and capture them with their phones. "Look, there's even a green lotus flower! How unique!" one visitor exclaimed, sharing the sight with friends.

"This year's exhibition includes not just lotus displays but also cultural activities like garden tours themed on hanfu, a traditional Chinese garment," said an organizer.

From July 4 to 6, five pingtan performances — a kind of storytelling and ballad singing — were held at Lianhuazhuang Park, featuring classic pieces by professional artists. A cultural market displayed traditional crafts such as herbal sachets, embroidery, and ceramic tea sets, offering unique Huzhou souvenirs.

On July 12, a family activity will invite parents and children to paint lotus flowers together, fostering creativity and bonding.
