To foster the development of reportage literature, the Chinese Reportage Literature Society, in collaboration with the Huzhou municipal government, established the Xu Chi Reportage Literature Award in 2001. This prestigious award is held biennially to honor excellence in the field.
In 2017, starting with the sixth edition of the award, Nanxun was designated as the permanent venue for the Xu Chi Reportage Literature Award ceremony. This recognition has earned Nanxun the title of "Hometown of Chinese Reportage Literature".
