In the wake of the May Day holiday that sparked a tourism boom, cultural venues across China became must-see destinations.
In Yucun village in Moganshan town — located in Deqing county, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province — the country's first refrigerator magnet museum opened its doors during the break.
The new attraction is drawing hordes of fans daily, offering a unique cultural and tourism experience through the art of these small collectibles.
Visitors to the museum are greeted with a fascinating display of the refrigerator magnets, artfully arranged on the walls. The intricate and charming designs captivate tourists, who are eager to take photos and explore the collection.
The museum's curator, Shen Ji, is an avid magnet enthusiast. She said that most of the 500 featured items are from her personal collection, gathered during her studies in the UK and travels to over 20 countries. The collection is further enriched by authorized replicas from major museums.
Beyond the collection, the museum also showcases an original series that captures the essence of Moganshan — featuring metal badges inspired by local landmarks such as the Xiazhu Lake National Wetland Park and the Mogan Mountain.
Shen, who has designed magnets incorporating Deqing's rich cultural heritage, aims to offer visitors lasting memories of Deqing to take home.
