The Shuanglin silk damask from Huzhou, Zhejiang province, is being displayed at the Shuanglin Damask Today exhibition at City University of Hong Kong from Oct 10 to 20.

Hailing from Shuanglin town, Huzhou, Shuanglin silk damask is a precious traditional silk fabric known for its thin, light, and soft nature. Its weaving technique is a national intangible cultural heritage item.

The exhibition showcased the works of three inheritors, featuring silk damask kites, antique-style paintings, cultural and creative products, and traditional weaving machines, which demonstrate exquisite craftsmanship and rich local character.

Shuanglin town also donated a traditional silk damask weaving machine to CityU.

The exhibition not only allows Hong Kong people to personally experience the charm of Shuanglin silk damask but also provides an opportunity for Huzhou to conduct cultural exchanges with Hong Kong universities.
